Banana box program

Brigiotta's credits back banana boxes in an effort to reduce, re-use and recycle.

We will credit your invoice 35¢ per every eligible box returned.

 

Step 1: Prepare your boxes for pickup

  • The lid must be on top and the base on the bottom.

  • We cannot accept nested boxes (a box inside a box).

  • Make sure your boxes are empty, clean, dry and structurally sound.

 

Step 2: Notify your delivery driver

Notify your delivery driver at time of delivery that you would like to return your eligible banana boxes.

Your driver will collect your boxes and issue a credit directly on your invoice.

What is the credit?

Customers returning eligible banana boxes are given a 35¢ credit on their invoice at time of delivery.

What boxes are eligible?

Any banana box complete with a lid and bottom that are empty, clean, dry and structurally sound are eligible.

How do we return the banana boxes?

Notify your driver at time of delivery and they will collect your eligible banana boxes. Your driver will in turn issue a credit directly on your invoice for the boxes we receive.

How do we use the credit?

The credit is written directly on the invoice at time of receipt.

Is there a minimum number of boxes that must be returned?

There is no minimum number of boxes, even if you wish to return one box - every effort counts.

Why just banana boxes?

Banana boxes are one of the few produce boxes that are built with double wall construction.  This type of construction protects fragile bananas while in transit, however this type of box also uses extra material and is wasteful if not reused. Because of their ridged construction, they are one of the few boxes that can be re-used. Some customers may not have a need to reuse as many boxes they collect and may only be able to recycle or discard the boxes. 

What type of banana boxes?

Any type except “Quad Pack” (due to it’s irregular shape and stack height). Petites, regulars, Dole, Chiquita… Any box if its a banana box complete with a lid that is clean and dry.
